Shoreline YMCA campaign success
The Shoreline/South County YMCA raised $113,885 in its Partners With Youth campaign. The event was the YMCA’s annual fund-raising campaign. The money will be used to support the YMCA’s youth and teen programs, scholarships for child care and summer day camp programs and after school programs at Kellogg Middle School and the Shoreline/LFP Youth Council.
Shoreline permit packets online
Permit submittal packets including checklists and applications are now available to download from the City of Shoreline’s Web site, www.cityofshoreline.com.
“Our city council believes in trying new ways to make it easier and more convenient to do business with the city,” said planning and development services director Tim Stewart. “Having the permit submittal packets online is just one way we are doing that.”
City permit types are defined under the permit section of Shoreline’s Web site, www.cityofshoreline. com/cityhall/permits. Linked to those definitions are the submittal packets, which include downloadable checklists, applications and other necessary forms.
“Planning staff is available to help you through the process and in many cases their help may be required,” Stewart said. “But by having everything you need to begin the permit process available through your computer, you can save a trip to City Hall and save time.”
Submittal packets are still available at the City Hall Annex, 1110 N. 175th St., Suite 107. For more information about Shoreline permits, call 206-546-1811.
Hopelink seeks volunteers
Hopelink’s Shoreline Center is in need of volunteers to help with its weekly food bank. The food bank is temporarily operating out of the Shoreline Free Methodist Church and needs volunteers to distribute food there on the second and fourth Mondays of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are also needed to deliver food to homebound clients and sort and organize food at Hopelink’s Northshore Center in Bothell, where the food for Shoreline’s clients is stored. For more information, contact Brenda Grutz at 425-869-6066 or brendag@hope-link.org.
