Seeks Listings

The Snohomish County Tourism Bureau is currently seeking listings of events, fairs and festivals for its local calendar of events from April 1st, 2003 through September 30th, 2003. Entries should include the exact dates, official name and location of the event, phone number for event information, sponsoring organization and a brief description of the event. Entries are due to the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau by February 20, 2003.

N’shore “Y” family Valentine’s Party

The City of Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking community input for the naming of its new Community Park located on SR 527 and Trillium Blvd.

Bothell seeks board members

Do you feel strongly about your City’s Parks and Recreation, Landmark Preservation or other concerns? Citizens interested in assisting the City of Bothell on advisory boards and commissions now have various positions to consider.

All appointments will take effect on April 1, 2003, unless otherwise noted. The City Council will conduct interviews on March 10 and is expected to make appointments on March 17. Board and Commission applications are being accepted until February 7.

Eleven positions on six boards and commissions will be appointed for the following:

Landmark Preservation Board: Two volunteer 5-year terms beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2008.

Library Advisory Board: Two volunteer 5-year terms beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2008.

Lodging Tax/Tourism Advisory Committee: Three volunteer 2-year terms beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2005.

Parks &Recreation Board: One volunteer 3-year term beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2006.

Planning Commission: Two paid vacant 4-year terms beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2007. Compensation is $300 per month.

Shorelines Board: One volunteer 5-year term beginning April 1 and expiring March 31, 2008.

All board and commission positions offer educational and fulfilling opportunities to become involved in city government. The filing period for these positions closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 7. Applications are available at the City Clerk’s office at Bothell City Hall, 18305 101st Ave. NE, or by calling 425.486.3256. Please consult the City Clerk’s office for membership requirements, meeting times, and locations for the various boards and commissions. Information is also available at www.ci.bothell.wa.us.

Passport hours for 2003 at City Hall

City of Bothell Municipal Court will offer passport services on Mondays and Thursdays only, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Telephone inquiries will also be limited to these days and times.

Please note that passport renewals are handled through the Mail-in Form only and not through the Bothell Municipal Court. NW Stream Center sets programs

The Adopt-A-Stream foundation presents a series of programs on a variety of topics through February at the Northwest Stream Center in cooperation with Snohomish County Parks and Recreation. The Stream Center is located at 600 128th St. SE.
