Bus riders develop snow-how
The recent storm gave transit riders a reminder that one way to prepare for winter weather is to increase their “snow-how” for riding Sound Transit buses and rail service.
The best way for ST riders to plan ahead for winter weather is by signing up to receive rider alert e-mails and text messages. Since weather impacts vary by transit service, riders have the option of choosing what updates they want to receive. To sign up, visit www.soundtransit.org and go to the “Rider Alerts” section at the top right of the page.
During weather events, Sound Transit posts rider alerts at www.soundtransit.org. Riders without Internet access can get up-to-date information by calling 888-889-6368.
Stay connected during storms
Frontier Communications maintains substantial backup systems for power that includes banks of batteries and generators to help keep phone lines in operation and customers connected to vital resources in the event of a power outage.
Frontier wants to remind customers to take extra steps to be prepared during this winter storm season to stay connected. Start by using a corded phone. Phones that do not need an electrical source will continue to operate even when your power is out, helping in the event of an emergency, ensuring reliable access and address notification to 911 and other emergency services.
