Here’s what coming up in Driftwood’s classic movie series:
Nov. 26: “My Man Godfrey” (1936) — Socialite Carole Lombard hires down-on-his-luck William Powell as the family butler — and falls in love with him — in one of the great screwball comedies of the era.
Dec. 17: “Meet Me in St. Louis” (1944) — Vincente Minnelli directs his future bride Judy Garland in this gorgeous MGM musical set during the 1904 World’s Fair.
Feb. 11: “To Have and Have Not” (1944) — The chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall is undeniable in their first cinematic pairing, adapted by William Faulkner from the Ernest Hemingway novel.
April 15: “Yours, Mine &Ours” (1968) — Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball star in the original version of this family comedy about a widower with 10 children and a widow with eight who find love again.
June 17: “Anchors Aweigh” (1945) — Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly are sailors who sing and dance their way through a four day shore leave in Hollywood.
Screenings take place at 7 p.m. Sundays at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St. in Edmonds. Tickets are $5, available by calling Driftwood’s box office at 425-774-9600 or at the door. Tickets for Classic Movies are not part of the Driftwood Players regular season.
