Still have gifts to buy but don’t want to face the frenzy at the mall? It’s not too late to order top-name glass giftware and collectibles online if you know where to look. Jurgen Industries, Inc., a third-generation Snohomish County business, can still get gift orders shipped and delivered to most locations by Christmas if you order soon.
The Monroe-based company has one of the region’s largest selections of hand-painted glass giftware from major names such as Lolita, AMIA Studios and Joan Baker. Their inventory also includes retired and hard-to-find patterns as well as the current and more popular ones.
“I’ve never seen a retail store with even half of what we have,” said Jurgen Industries president and CEO Jason Lammers. “Part of our service is having a good selection and good variety at good prices.”
The company strives to have a comprehensive line of designer products. Lammers also sometimes buys-in private collections. That means if you’ve broken a favorite glass in your Lolita collection, you have a chance of finding a replacement at Jurgen Industries even though it’s a pattern that is hard-to-find or retired.
Lammers also believes in keeping fair prices on these hard-to-find pieces. He sets the price in relation to what he paid rather than what he could potentially get at an online auction. That’s rare in a market where retired Lolita glasses can regularly be found making over $100 or more on eBay.
Although Jurgen Industries is known both nationally and internationally, the region’s retail shoppers didn’t really catch on to this gem until the online company appeared at the local home show. There, the eye-catching display of glassware dazzled passersby who asked how to find them on the Web.
“We had a huge success at the show,” Lammers acknowledged. “We’re going to be in the spring home show and plan to be a fixture at future shows.”
Giftware comes in all price ranges and includes everything from small sun catchers up to full window panels. There are vases and votives, nightlights, picture frames, glass trays and more. They carry multiple products from the Lolita line. Lammers notes that Lolita wine glasses are now becoming as hot a seller as the signature martini glasses.
If you are a fan of glass collectibles and don’t receive everything on your wish list this holiday season, or if you just want to start next year’s shopping early, the company is planning a year-end sale with some of its best discounts.
Lammers explained: “We have a big inventory sale every year after Christmas. It starts Christmas Day and continues through December 31.”
One of the things that customers appreciate most about Jurgen Industries, Inc. is that it is an established local firm. The company started about 25 years ago as a glass paint manufacturer. Lammers’ grandmother was the vice president. Then about two and a half years ago, they started offering finished glassware. The response was amazing.
Today they still offer professional-grade glass paint for glass blowers, stained glass artists and craftspeople. It’s interesting to learn that some of the finished glass giftware they now stock, including some of the things manufactured in China, were painted with their own American-made paint product.
