Saturday night at the fights- 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15: Nile Shurtah unit presents “Saturday night at the fights.” Amateur boxers will compete. Fire Station 19 grand opening- 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22: The city of Mountlake Terrace and Fire District 1 hosts a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for newly constructed Fire Station 19. Event features fire station tours, guest speakers and an opportunity for kids to get pictures taken with firefighters and fire vehicles. The station is located at 5800 232nd St. W. in Mountlake Terrace.
Mountlake Terrace Citizen Voices- 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22: Saturday morning conversation series by citizens group resumes. Guest speakers Jim Hills, publisher of Enterprise Newspapers, and Jenny Lynn Zappala, Lynnwood/Mountlake Terrace editor, will talk about community newspapers and answer questions. Support The Troops Donations Rally- 10-1 p.m. Sunday, April 23: The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 and its Ladies Auxiliary are asking for donations of hard candy, baby wipes, suntan and hand lotions, toothpaste, toothbrushes, playing cards, writing paper, pens, crossword puzzle books, gum, coffee, tea, creamer and granola bars or money to send to our troops. Held at the Lynnwood Fire Station, 18818 44th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Donations can be dropped in the large barrel at the Fire Station anytime between now and the rally.
