SHHH auction to help hearing loss
The Everett-area chapter of SHHH, a hearing-loss organization, will hold a silent auction from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Commission Room of the Snohomish County PUD, 2320 California Avenue, Everett.
The fund-raiser is to help individuals with a hearing loss, their friends and family by offering support, education and advocacy. Lunch and dessert will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.
Kiwanis lead drive to stock food bank
Edmonds Seniors Kiwanis will conduct a food drive for Edmonds Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 18-20 at TOP Food &Drug, 21900 Highway 99 in Edmonds.
The food bank, based at Edmonds United Methodist Church, needs canned vegetables and fruit, fruit juice, tuna, peanut butter in plastic jars, soups and stews, pasta, rice, baby food and formula, paper products and soap. Cash donations in the form of checks made out to Edmonds Food Bank also are welcome.
Holiday fair helps music programs
The annual Edmonds-Woodway High School arts-and-crafts fair is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the school, 7600 212th St. SW., Edmonds.
Proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by the EWHS Music Booster Club, will benefit vocal and instrumental music programs.
Business Center Chamber member
Joining the membership of The Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is The Northwest Washington Women’s Business Center.
The organization is a public/private partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration and Community Capital Development. The center assists women and men in starting and growing their businesses through education, networking and financing.
Its office is at 123 Fourth Ave. N. in downtown Edmonds.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 the center will hold its “All That Glitters Expo &Gala” at the Edmonds Conference Center. A day-long marketplace featuring women-owned businesses will be followed by an evening fund-raiser, buffet dinner and entertainment.

Classes help ease return to work
A workshop for those who, through situations such as divorce or death of a spouse, must re-enter the work force will be held by the Displaced Homemaker Center of Pathways for Women YWCA from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, Nov. 30 through Dec. 15.
The sessions will be conducted in the YWCA Regional Center, 3301 Broadway, Everett.
Tools and support for those returning to the job market will be offered at no cost to participants. Transportation and child care may be available.
