Single parent night at YMCA tonight
Single parents and their children are invited to come to the Northshore YMCA from 6-8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 12, for a night featuring crafts, games and other activities.
The event is free and open to all single parent families. For more information, call Lori Magill at 425-485-9797. The Northshore YMCA is located at 11811 NE. 195th St. in Bothell.
City boards have multiple openings
The city of Mill Creek is seeking volunteers to fill vacancies on the Design Review Board and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Two full terms are vacant and a mid-term vacancy are available on the Design Review Board. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has two openings.
Both boards meet once a month at city hall. The parks board is an advisory board to the City Council, and all members must be residents of the city. The Design Review Board reviews all applications requiring building permits to ensure visual quality throughout the city. Design Review Board members do not need to be Mill Creek residents.

Child safety seat installations
Snohomish County Fire District 7 offers child safety seat installation. Installation times are by appointment because not all fire stations have a certified child safety seat technician on every shift.
