Residents against levy lid lift sought
Shoreline Fire Commissioners are seeking three residents to participate in a committee to write statements regarding an upcoming levy lid lift. The statements will be included in a voter’s pamphlet and since commissioners have already found three residents to write statements in favor of the lid lift, they are now seeking three residents to write statements against the lid lift.
Chief Ron Mehlert said it has been difficult to find people in opposition to the levy lid lift.
Residents willing to write a negative statement should submit their names, address and telephone number via standard mail to the Shoreline Fire Department, at 17525 Aurora Ave. N., Shoreline. The mail should be addressed to Shoreline Fire Commissioners and the deadline for submittal is Sept. 12. Applicants must be registered voters living in Shoreline and must be available for a meeting and writing the statement.
