AWC leadership honor for Mayor

Mill Creek Mayor Terry Ryan has earned the Core Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities. Ryan completed more than 30 hours of classroom credits to achieve this award. Topics included budgeting, land use planning, personnel, and advanced leadership skills.

Ryan has served on the City Council since 1995 and is Mill Creek’s only three-term mayor.

Transportation plan public hearing

A public hearing on the city of Mill Creek’s 2006-2011 Transportation Improvement Plan will take place during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The plan identifies all anticipated transportation projects within the city during the next six years.

The hearing is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12. The meeting takes place at 15728 Main St. For more information, call Doug Jacboson at 425-745-1891.

Developments go before examiner

Three Mill Creek area developments are scheduled for review by the Snohomish County Hearing Examiner next week.

Of the parcels, one at 4300 144th St. SE is slated to have a preliminary review. A proposed subdivision at 15133 Cascadian Way is up for a possible rezone. In addition, a proposed subdivision at 4108 180th St. SE is up for a preliminary review and a rezone.

All three developments are located outside the city of Mill Creek. Hearings begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 at the County Administration Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., in Everett.

Fire planning meeting next week

Snohomish County Fire District 7 will hold a strategic planning meeting from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. All adult residents of the district can participate.

In this meeting the district is looking for comments about service priorities and expectations. Residents can register by visiting www.firedistrict7.com and clicking on the community meeting button, or calling 425-486-1217 between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and asking to be placed on the roster.

The meeting is at district headquarters, 8010 180th St. SE in Clearview.

Child safety seat installations

Snohomish County Fire District 7 offers child safety seat installation. Installation times are by appointment because not all fire stations have a certified child safety seat technician on every shift.
