Time to plan summer picnics

Staff at Edmonds Parks and Recreation currently are accepting reservations for City Park shelters for the 2005 season (May through September).

Each shelter houses six picnic tables and can host a maximum of 100 people. Cost for one shelter is $75, or $50 for the gazebo.

Piano Trio to perform locally

The Icicle Creek Piano Trio is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at EUUC in Edmonds, 8109 224th St. SW.

The event will showcase the musical evolution through the genre of the Piano Trio, Brahms, Beethoven and Winkler. The Icicle Creek Piano Trio is the ensemble-in-residence at the Icicle Creek Music Center in Leavenworth, Wash. This trio represents a meeting point of nations; Marcia Kaufmann, violinist, is from the United States, Oksana Ezhokina, pianist, is from Russia, and Sally Singer, cellist, is from Great Britain.

Ladies auxiliary meeting date set

The first meeting of the newly formed Ladies Auxiliary for Post 8870 is set for 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Edmonds Senior Center.

Super Bowl

party planned

Edmonds community members are invited to the 11th Annual Super Bowl Party hosted by Faith Community Church, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6 at the church, 10220 238th St. SW in Edmonds.

Fans will be treated to a game presentation on a big screen TV courtesy of Good Guys in Lynnwood. All guests are asked to bring a cash or food donation for the Edmonds Food Bank and a snack dish to share with everyone. Visitors may bring their own favorite sports chair for their viewing comfort. Quarterly prizes will be awarded from The Sub Shop, Happy Burger and Teriyaki, and Woodway Texaco.
