Edmonds market open Saturday
The Edmonds Museum Garden Market at Fifth and Bell in the Public Safety Building Parking Lot and Centennial Plaza, is open Saturdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., starting Saturday, May 7 through June 25. The Summer Market opens at 9 am on July 3.
On hand will be Snohomish County growers selling a wide variety of vegetable starts, bedding plants and unusual nursery stock that will be proud additions to the yards and gardens around the Edmonds community.
Local artisans and craftspeople will also be on hand with one-of-a-kind outdoor garden art and outdoor living products.
Pancakes to start daylong event
The Masonic Center, 515 Dayton, Edmonds, on May 7 will host a pancake breakfast, bake sale and series of other events from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
The pancake breakfast, for $5, will start at 7 a.m. along with heart waffles and lingonberries. Then, pick up some wonderful baked Norwegian delicacies such as legse, krumkake, fattigman, rosettes, spritz, pepperkake, and other baked goods with cardamom and cinnamon.
Mother’s Day gifts will be available, including Norwegian sweaters, wheat-weaving, wonderful Scandinavian music CDs, books, videos, cards, hand-made wooden toys, imports from Norway and Sweden, and much more. Commemorative mug with the centennial logo on it are available for $12.
Other items and events include: beautiful Norwegian national costumes called bundaer; $3 raffle ticket for a chance at prizes such as a round-trip ticket for two to Scandinavia via SAS; a quilt, or a basket of Scandinavian goodies; find Norwegian ancestors with the help of a genealogist; learn about how the Vikings lived; learn about Ski for Light; find out about the Sons of Norway.
Admission is free and open to the public.
South County seniors set events

YMCA hosts
teen dance
Local hip-hop artists, Invazn, Loe &Sonny ill and DJ OnPoint will be at Shoreline/South County Family YMCA starting at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 7 for “Higher Learning,” a series of all ages teen dances.
Tickets are $5.00 at the door and will include a raffle ticket for door prizes. A portion of the proceeds support teen programs such as, Hang Time, Just Us Girls, Anger Management, Youth &Government, Youth Council and Late Night. The Shoreline/South County Family YMCA is at 1220 NE 175, Shoreline.

MLT selects new interim manager
Mountlake Terrace City Council and staff selected Jerry Osterman as its interim city manager, and he took his oath of office at the May 4 City Council meeting. The Council and staff continue to look for a permanent replacement for the former manager, Connie Fessler, who was forced to resign by the City Council a month ago. The Council is using the Prothman Company for its city manager search.

The Lynndale Garden Club will have its plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.
50 years
for Rotary club
Lynnwood Rotary invites the community to explore and experience a fair of booths representing all the highlights of its past 50 years of service to the community. The event is from noon to 5 p.m. May 21 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3700 block of 196th St. in Lynnwood. This event is free and open to the public. A gala dinner event will follow.
