Corvette show in North City
The All Corvette Show and Shine is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Shoreline Water District Offices, 1519 NE. 177th St., Shoreline. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and trophies will be awarded at 2:30 p.m. The car show is sponsored by the North City Business Association.

Open house at CRISTA set
CRISTA Senior Community’s summer open house is set for 1- 3 p.m. Thursday, June 23 at Cristwood, located at 350 N. 190th St, Shoreline.
Ed Hume, master gardener and radio and television personality, is the featured speaker. All six sizes of Cristwood apartments will be available for viewing. Wanted: kids born in August 1995
On Aug. 31, 2005, the city of Shoreline will turn 10 years old. As part of the 10-year anniversary and Celebrate Shoreline festivities, the city is looking for children born in Shoreline during the month of August 1995 and who have lived here for all 10 years, to be part of the event.
These children are invited to march in the Celebrate Shoreline parade, have their names displayed at the festival and will also receive an “I’m a 10 in Shoreline” T-shirt to wear in the parade.

Learn to use a fire extinguisher
Northshore Fire Department is offering a Community Fire Extinguisher Training Day at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 4 at the headquarter’s fire station, located at 18030 73rd Ave. NE., in Kenmore. The training begins with an educational presentation and concludes with a hands-on opportunity to use a fire extinguisher to put out a controlled fire to gain experience.
The training is free and offered to citizens within Northshore Fire Department’s response area, which encompasses the cities of Kenmore and Lake Forest Park. The minimum age requirement to participate is 15 years old. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Safety equipment is provided. Those interested must RSVP by June 3 by calling 425-486-2784.
Recycle phones for Special Olympics
The Shoreline Police Department has been designated as a collection point in the partnership between Special Olympics and RMS Communications Group to recycle old or outdated cell phones. The Police Department will have collection boxes in its lobby and at city hall.
For each cell phone turned into RMS communications, a minimum of $1 will be donated to Special Olympics. RMS may donate a minimum of $1 to more than $100 per donated phone. Shoreline will participate in the recycle program through Jan. 31, 2006.

Shoreline Police Volunteers have a Vacation House Check Program for residents. To sign up, call one of the storefront offices: Westside Neighborhood Center at 206-546-3636 or Eastside Neighborhood Center at 206-363-8424.
Volunteer to drive seniors to doctors
Senior Services Transportation Program is seeking volunteers who are available weekdays to drive seniors to medical appointments. Volunteers use their own vehicles and choose where and when they wish to drive.
