Police employee earns city honor

Anne Kruger, an administrative assistant for the Mill Creek Police Department, was named the city of Mill Creek’s Employee of the Quarter for the period of January to March.

Kruger was described as someone who continually goes the extra mile, does more than her share as a team player, makes good use of time, and uses her creative skills to make a great contribution to the police department, the Wellness Committee, and the city.

Newspaper seeks stories of fathers

The Mill Creek Enterprise is looking to run stories from local residents about their fathers in its June 17 issue to commemorate Father’s Day.

Stories can be about one anecdote or general memories and should be kept to 150 words or less. A photograph can also be submitted to run with an individual story. The Enterprise reserves the right to edit all contributions.

Subdivision comes before examiner

A re-zone for a 5.6-acre site northeast of Mill Creek comes before the Snohomish County Hearing Examiner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1.

Mark Blanchett of Spadafora Construction &Development is seeking to subdivide property in the 12500 block of 35th Avenue SE into 28 lots for single-family homes.

The hearing takes place at the county administration’s east building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Local hearing on county comp plan

Snohomish County’s planning department will host an open house about changes in the county’s Comprehensive Plan next week in Mill Creek.

The open house takes place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2 in the multi-purpose room at Gold Creek Community Church, 4326 148th St. SE.

Assistance needed for Rescue Pup

Rescue Pup, a Mill Creek-based non-profit organization that finds homes for stray sick and injured dogs, regularly needs donations to cover veterinary expenses.

Donations can be made at Pet Pleasers, a non-profit pet supply store the organization operates. Pet Pleasers is located at the corner of 9th Avenue SE and 164th Street SE.

In addition to donations, the organization also needs volunteers to serve as foster homes for dogs it receives.

DARE chocolate shield fund-raiser

Mill Creek police are selling police department chocolate shields for $2 to benefit the DARE program.

The shields were made from a mold that was designed with the Mill Creek water wheel and the words “Mill Creek Police.” The shields can be purchased at the police department’s service counter inside City Hall, 15728 Main St.
