Relay For Life

at high school

The Lynnwood High School and City Athletic Complex has been chosen as the 2005 Relay For Life of South Snohomish County site. Organizers for this event, which benefits the American Cancer Society, hope the central location of the field (across from the Alderwood mall) will create a greater sense of awareness about cancer and the foundation’s cause. This year’s local Relay for Life event will run from Saturday, May 21 until Sunday morning, May 22. The event raises money through lap donations. Folks participating – who include cancer survivors, family and friends of those who have or had cancer and more – walk around a track for about 24 hours non-stop. There are also opportunities to donate money to commemorate a luminary bag for a loved one.

Registration for this event is due before April 9. The first of four Team Captain meetings is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at the Lynnwood High School Career Center. For more information call Mark Walker at 425-493-9694, Lyn Rau at 206-947-3362 or Candice Cochran at 425-322-1116.
