Dementia expert
leads workshops
Teepa Snow, a nationally recognized expert on dementia, will conduct workshops for caregivers, family members and professionals Wednesday and Thursday, April 19-20, at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
Four identical sessions focused on immediately useful ways of dealing with persons with dementia will be held over the two days. The fee is $35 per session. Proceeds benefit Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Washington.

April 15 cutoff for
lower Killoqua rates
April 15 is the last day to sign up for summer programs at Camp Killoqua at the lower registration fees. The camp is operated by Camp Fire USA Snohomish County Council.
Killoqua’s summer programs vary from a traditional week at camp to river rafting, horses, sailing, bike trips and specialty sessions in photography, culinary arts, archery and teen leadership.

Rotary offers community grants
The Rotary Club of Lynnwood is offering grants to improve the communities the club serves. To qualify, a group or organization must be not for profit; 501(c)3 status is preferred, but not required.
Lynnwood Rotary is accepting requests for grants up to $2,500. Those seeking grants must provide services to Lynnwood and South Snohomish County residents, roughly defined by the Edmonds school district boundaries.

Class offers look at aquatic larvae
The Northwest Stream Center will hold a class on aquatic larvae and what they’re up to this time of year at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17 at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. There will be trays of live critters to observe and a video microscope set up for the class. Tickets are $4 for members and $6 for non-members. Advance ticket purchase is required. Macy’s opens board to teens
Macy’s is accepting applications until April 28 for its 2006-07 Corporate High School Board. Applicants must be seniors in good academic standing at area high schools during the 2006-07 school year. Pick up applications in the juniors and young men departments at the Alderwood, Northgate, downtown Seattle, Bellevue Square, Southcenter, Redmond and Tacoma Macy’s stores.
