Annual decorating contest begins
Nominations currently are being accepted for the Edmonds in Lights Christmas decorating contest.
Prizes offered this year include a one-night stay for two people at Captain Whidbey Inn including lodging, dinner and breakfast, dinner for two aboard the Spirit of Washington dinner train, dinner for two at Giardi’s in Edmonds and gift certificates to local Edmonds shops.

Holiday shopping event planned
Edmonds businesses C’est la Vie and Arista Wine Cellars will host a private shopping event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at their respective downtown shops.
Wine and hors doeuvres will be served and all purchased gifts will be wrapped and shipped if requested.

holiday concert
The city of Edmonds will host a holiday concert titled Trolley Days Band Holiday Magic at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at the Church of God, 8224 220th SW in Edmonds. Cost: free. For more information, call 425-745-9121.
Senior trip to Benaroya Hall
The South County Senior Center is offering a trip for seniors to hear Seattle Symphony’s Holiday Concert. Attendees will leave at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 from the center, and there will be time for shopping and dining before the concert.
Seats are limited to 11 participants and reservations are a must. Call: 425-774-5555.
Students to host jazz performance
Students from Soundview School are scheduled to play Dixieland jazz for all to hear at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at 5th and Main St. in front of C’est la Vie in downtown Edmonds.
The event is open to anyone interested.

The Edmonds in Bloom Board currently is looking for seven to nine area residents who are willing to share their garden during the annual Edmonds in Bloom event and garden tour in July.
Gardens can be colorful, unique, exotic, whimsical, serene – the choices are endless – and can be located anywhere within the city of Edmonds or Town of Woodway.
