Youth dance class for children

Shoreline Parks &Recreation is offering dance for children ages 4 to 11 years. Classes begin the last week in September and the first week in October.

Pre-Ballet, Lyrical Ballet, Beginning Ballet, Youth Jazz, and Creative Rhythm and Dance with fees ranging from $36 to $48. The Dance Collective and Performance class for ages 8-11 years is $58. For more information or to register, call 206-418-3383

Northshore Fire Department event

Join the Northshore Fire Department at its open house noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at its Headquarters Fire Station, 18030 73rd Ave. NE in Kenmore. The event coincides with National Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 3–9.   

The event will feature displays of fire apparatus and equipment; aid car and EMS equipment; technical rescue team equipment; and demonstrations featuring a thermal imager, firefighter training props and fire extinguishers.

Kids can enjoy fire department temporary tattoos and helium-filled balloons. They may even glimpse a firefighter sliding down the brass pole while taking part in interactive, educational fire and life safety exercises.

Motorcycle event set for Sunday

A motorcycle ride fundraiser is scheduled to begin 9 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Aurora Church of the Nazarene, two blocks west of I-5 on 175th Street.

The event includes food, rides, a 10:30 a.m. biker service, ventriloquist, a drawing for a free bike, a biker dress-up contest and a motorcycle give-away. In the afternoon, there will be a free barbecue, band, performance by Seattle Police Motorcycle Drill Team, motorcycle vendors, giveaways and an afternoon cruise.

Anti-bullying class enrollment open

Shoreline Parks &Recreation is offering an anti-bullying workshop to help kids learn to make positive choices when it comes to bullying and dealing with anger and conflict. The workshop is scheduled 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Shoreline Library. The fee to enroll is $36, and children 7-11 years old are welcome.

This class addresses both the bullied and the bullies and is taught by Paul Figueroa, owner of Re-do Theater Company and former King County Police Officer. For more information or to register, call 206-418-3383.
