Collard’s condition steadily improves
Mill Creek resident, business owner and Planning Commission chair Bob Collard continues to improve after suffering head injuries in an Aug. 31 car accident in Lynnwood that temporarily left him in a coma.
On Tuesday, Sept. 14, Collard was transferred to the rehabilitation unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Amy Mitchell, Collard’s sister-in-law. Collard has been at Harborview ever since the accident and has made steady improvement. A federal privacy law prohibits hospitals from releasing information on patients.
“He’s starting to realize more and more every day,” Mitchell said, adding that his doctors expect him to make a full recovery, which could take anywhere from six months to a year.
Collard co-owns Comfort Keepers in Mill Creek, a business devoted to in-home care for seniors.
