Lions Club bazaar today at Grange
The Mill Creek Lions Club is having its first annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 17 at the North Creek Grange Hall, 19510 Bothell-Everett Highway, four blocks south of Golds Gym.
The event features 35 local arts and crafts vendors, as well as a variety of refreshments. Food available for purchase includes Swiss potato soup, hot dogs, kettle corn, hot cider, coffee, soda and sweets.
Other Town Center shops introduced
Several other businesses are slated for Mill Creek Town Center.
The city of Mill Creek recently announced several tenants who will operate along the east end of Main Street, between University Book Store and Central Market.
Among the tenants are Jamba Juice, Bella Cleaners, Midori Teriyaki, Starbucks, Supercuts, Cold Stone Creamery, Kabloom, Planet Beach, Paddywack, Kit’s Camera, In Spa, Eye Society and Sprint.
Buildings to house these businesses are still in various phases of construction.
Youth board seeks holiday donations
The Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board has adopted a family this holiday season and is looking for food and clothing donations.
The family is a single father with two daughters, ages 13 and 11. They would like a food basket and clothing for Christmas. Youth advisory board members will deliver the donations on Thursday, Dec. 23.

Choir to perform in Town Center
The choir from the Northshore Baptist Church, under the direction of Carolyn Lucas, will perform traditional Christmas carols and other choir numbers at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 in the courtyard outside the House of Bread, 15224 Main St. in Mill Creek Town Center.
New recreation director named
Mill Creek city manager Bob Stowe announced Tuesday, Dec. 14 that Pam Olson is the city’s new recreation supervisor.
Olson had been filling the position on an interim basis since Lynn Devoir resigned in October to accept a similar position in Shoreline.
Olson served as a recreation assistant with the city of Mill Creek under Devoir.
City arts board members named
Five new members to the city of Mill Creek’s Arts/Beautification Board were appointed during the Tuesday, Dec. 14 City Council meeting.
Loyt Neiman, Patricia Paavola, Marlene King and Rosemary Quigley Mardesich were appointed as members at large. Michael Orlando with deVine Wines was appointed as a business representative.
District has helmets available
Snohomish County Fire District 1 has bicycle, multi-sport and ski helmets available to the public for a small donation.
Ski helmets are available at the Mariner Fire Station only (12310 Meridian Ave., Everett) for a donation of $16.
Bicycle helmets are available for a $5 donation and the multi-sport helmets suitable for skateboarding, bicycling and rollerblading are available for a $6.50 donation at the Mariner Fire Station, 12310 Meridian Ave., Everett; Silver Firs Fire Station, 13611 Puget Park Drive; Martha Lake Fire Station, 16819 13th Avenue W.; and the Silver Lake Fire Station, 12011, 19th Ave. SE.

Library committee seeks member
The Sno-Isle Library District is seeking a representative to serve on the district’s Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Committee.
The committee provides advisory assistance to the Sno-Isle Board of Trustees and staff in their compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Members must either have a disability or represent an organization that serves the disabled population of the library district.
Interested candidates may submit a letter of intent to the Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees, 7312 35th Ave. NE, Marysville, WA 98271. Letters must be received no later than Feb. 11.
Assistance needed for Rescue Pup
Rescue Pup, a Mill Creek-based non-profit organization that finds homes for stray sick and injured dogs, regularly needs donations to cover veterinary expenses.
Donations can be made at Pet Pleasers, a non-profit pet supply store the organization operates. Pet Pleasers is located at the corner of 9th Avenue SE and 164th Street SE.
The organization also needs volunteers willing to serve as foster homes for dogs it receives.
