City applying for trail grant
The city of Mill Creek is applying for a $250,000 grant from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program to build a new bicycle and pedestrian trail along 9th Avenue SE.
If the city receives the matching grant, it would get the money in summer 2005 and construction would begin a year later.
The city is also working to rehabilitate older trail sections along North Creek between Imperial Gardens and City Hall.
The current estimate to complete all North Creek Trail work is $890,000.
The city has allocated $250,000 in the current budget for trail restoration work and to extend it across North Creek to 164th Street SE.
