Storm drainage project meeting
An information meeting is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, July 13 at the corner of Third Avenue NW. and 182nd Street in order for city staff to provide information about the Third Avenue storm drainage project.
The goal of the project is to keep storm water away from the doorsteps of more than 20 homes between Third and Sixth Avenues NW. For more than 20 years, this area has experienced flooding during moderate storms.
The plan has two parts: a new storm water conveyance system; and an expanded storm water detention area. The new conveyance line will begin on Richmond Beach Road at Third Avenue NW., following Third Avenue to NW 176th St., across to Sixth Avenue NW. and down to Boeing Creek North Detention Pond. The Boeing Creek Detention Pond will be modified to accommodate peak storm water flows from the new conveyance system.
