Mountlake Terrace is hosting an open house on its draft critical areas ordinance from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 23204 58th Ave. W.
A first draft of a new critical areas ordinance will be shown and informally discussed. A Planning Commission presentation and public hearing will follow at 7 p.m.

Festivals panel seeks members
The city of Lynnwood seeks applicants for an opening on the Festivals Fund Review Panel. Panel members review grant applications and make funding recommendations within the amount of funds annually budgeted for festivals.

Free fun run screening
As co-medical sponsors for the Lynnwood Fun Run on Aug. 22, Virginia Mason Lynnwood and OrthoSport Physical Therapy are offering a free pre-run Injury Screening from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Aug. 14 at OrthoSport in Lynnwood. Screening staff includes an orthopedist and a podiatrist from Virginia Mason Lynnwood, and a physical therapist from OrthoSport.

Food bank
needs produce
Donations of garden or store bought produce are needed for the Concerned for Neighbors food bank, located on 4700 228th St. in Mountlake Terrace. All donations need to come in on Monday morning between 8-11 a.m.
Cash donations to purchase produce is also needed. The Klesick Family Farm in Stanwood will match any donations made in the month of August toward this effort.
Have rummage, need sale?
Terrace View Presbyterian Church in Mountlake Terrace is having a different kind of rummage sale Friday, Aug. 20 and Saturday, Aug. 21.
The church is offering citizens to rent a table to sell their wares at the church’s advertised sale. Cost is $15 each and the church is located at 4700 228th St. SW. Crafters are invited as well. For more information call Dolores at 425-771-9486.
Call for artists
in Lynnwood
The Lynnwood Arts Commission is accepting applications from local and regional visual artists wishing to exhibit their work.
Applications will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 20. The Lynnwood Library art gallery will feature monthly exhibits in 2005.
To apply, artists may submit an application consisting of: a letter of interests, up to 10 slides of work with slide list, a resume and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Lynnwood Arts Commission, City of Lynnwood, PO Box 5008, Lynnwood, WA 98046-5008. Lynnwood Rotary golf tourney
The Rotary Club of Lynnwood will have its annual Golf Scramble Tournament fundraiser at 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Everett Golf and Country Club.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Entry fee is $150 and includes 18 holes, with golf cart, range balls, T-prizes, box lunch and banquet dinner that a guest may attend for $30. The tournament is open to the public and all proceeds benefit the many charities of Rotary.

Seattle Kokon Taiko Group, a Japanese-American drumming ensemble, will perform a free show from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 at Terrace Creek Par, 23200 48th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace.
