Paramount Park Easter egg hunt

Paramount Park Neighborhood Group is hosting an Easter egg hunt 9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at Lower Paramount Park Natural Area Meadow. Participants can enter at NE 147th and Eighth NE, and are encouraged to bring baskets to fill with candy and prizes. Donations will be accepted. Council proclaims ‘Volunteer Week’

At the April 5 Shoreline City Council meeting, neighborhood police center volunteers, were honored for their dedication to the city. The volunteers contribute about 400 hours per month to the city and assist with such duties as making vacation house checks, monitoring parks, providing disabled parking education, and updating Business Emergency Contracts. The Council proclamation of “Volunteer Week” precedes a yearly breakfast scheduled to honor volunteers.

Interurban Trail opening ceremony

The south section of Shoreline’s Interurban Trail will officially open for use with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Interurban Trailhead, located at 145th Street and Aurora Avenue. The public is invited to join in the celebration.

The south segment is between N. 145th and N. 155th Streets. Visitors are asked to park in the St. Dunstan’s east parking lot at the trailhead entrance on N. 145th St., or find street parking to the south on Linden Ave. N. To reach the church parking lot, take the driveway that slopes west as you drive into the trailhead area.

Plant sale at Shoreline church

Healthy local perennials, native plants, seedlings and more will be on sale on Saturday April 10, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Sunday April 11, 12-1 p.m., at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church, 14724 First Avenue NE, Shoreline. For more information, call 206-363-7994.

Library re-opening celebration

Celebrate the Library’s new refreshing look at 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at the library, located at Lake Forest Park Towne Center. There will be jazz guitar music by Mike Saunders from 1-2 p.m. At 2 p.m., Charles the Clown will be on hand for fun and games.

Second forum for a ‘Livable LFP’

The next Community Forum will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 29 at Third Place Commons. Residents will be able to see and critique how Berk &Associates translated attendees’ input into design alternatives for the Center. A summary of citizen comments from the March 4 forum and presentation notes from the Task Force’s March 18 meeting will also be available.

Charity flea market at Shoreline church

An annual charity flea market is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, located at 18045 15th Place NE, Shoreline. Many vendors bring treasures to sell at this charity event, including jewelry, hand stitched quilts and bedspread, glassware and linens.
