Build a birdhouse at parks class
Snohomish County Parks is offering a build-a-birdhouse workshop from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Willis Tucker Community Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive in Silver Firs, just east of Mill Creek.
The cost is $5 per person or $15 per family. Each birdhouse kit costs $5, payable to the instructor.
A park ranger will share information on attracting birds to your backyard and building the right house for them. Those attending will take home a birdhouse they build themselves.

CPR, first-aid classes set
CPR and first-aid classes will be offered Saturday, March 25, at North Sound Church, 404 Bell St. in Edmonds.
CPR will be taught from 8 a.m. to noon and first-aid, 1-5 p.m. Students may register for one or both classes. The materials fee is $10 per class.
Upon successful completion of each class, a completion certificate from the American Health and Safety Institute will be issued.
Enrollment is limited to 15 people per class. To register call the church at 425-776-9800.
Library hosts local history authors
The public is invited to a reception and book signing with the authors of the recently published “Snohomish County: An Illustrated History” from 1:30-4 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
Planning to attend the event are authors Charles LeWarne of Edmonds, David Cameron of Index and Jack O’Donnell and Larry O’Donnell of Everett. Their 432-page book, which is available for purchase at the Edmonds Museum among other outlets, includes 400 historic photographs and historical information about Snohomish County.
