Community Transit service fares increased as of Oct. 1. Bus fares increased for local and commuter service, except fare for senior and disabled bus service. Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) paratransit service and van pools also saw fare increases. The fare changes were made to offset higher fuel costs and lower sales tax revenues. The adjusted prices are:

n Local bus — Adults $1.50, youth $1, seniors 50 cents;

n Dial-Ride Transportation (DART) paratransit – $1.50 all ages;

n Commuter bus (south) – Adults $3.50, youth $2.75, seniors $1.50;

n Commuter bus (north/east) – Adults $4.50, youth $3.75, seniors $1.75*;

n Van pool fares increased based on trip mileage and size of the vehicle. The changes are Community Transit’s first for commuter fares since 2000. Van pool fares were last adjusted in 2001, and local and DART fares in 2005. For more information, visit www.communitytransit.org.
