Mill Creek Police may have made a small dent in the ongoing battle against car prowls locally, and an alert citizen helped out.
Officers responded to a suspicious activity call in the 3200 block of 156th Place SE shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22. The report was made because someone noticed two men looking in vehicles with a flashlight.
As officers entered the area, the two men tried to run away. After a short chase, one of the suspects was caught and taken into custody. The suspect then admitted that he and his accomplice were looking for a vehicle to prowl but had not found one when officers arrived.
The suspect later told police the location of his personal vehicle and gave police permission to search it. During the search an item of drug paraphernalia was found. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released.
The suspect is under community supervision for a previous offense and his activities were reported to his community custody officer.
Police were unable to locate the other suspect in the prowls.
