After a month-long hiatus, the Mill Creek City Council gets back to its regular meeting schedule.

The Council has its first meeting Tuesday, Sept. 7, with a 6 p.m. study session. That night, the Council is tentatively slated to talk about possible public art purchases for the Mill Creek Sports Park with members of the city’s Art/Beautification Board.

“There’s one project they’re really excited about and want the Council to provide funding for,” said city recreation supervisor Lynn Devoir.

A city law enacted when Mill Creek incorporated stipulates that one percent of the cost of any city construction project, including parks, be set aside for public art.

In addition, city planning staff will review with the Council proposed changes of various fees, including zoning and land-use fees, to reflect current costs.

Associate planner Christi Amrine said the city had received some comments from developers via the telephone, but nothing in writing. Most developer concerns dealt with the wording of some of the changes, which have been made.

No action will be taken on either item.
