Coming off their most successful seasons in school history, Shoreline Christian School’s baseball and fastpitch softball teams were well represented on this spring’s Northwest B League all-opponent teams.

Sophomore pitcher David Fertello, senior catcher Darren Broekhuis, senior second baseman Jeremy Prins and junior first baseman Brant Wahlman were named to the all-opponent baseball team.

Fertello went 7-3 with a 2.11 earned-run average and 70 strikeouts. He hit .487, stole 25 bases, boasted a .988 fielding percentage and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Broekhuis hit .409, drove in 23 runs and picked off 23 baserunners. Wahlman hit .443 with 21 RBI and 22 stolenbases. Prins hit .350 and had 18 steals.

The Crusaders made their first-ever postseason appearance this season, reaching the semifinals of the Class B state baseball tournament.

In softball, Heather Waller was named the league’s MVP. The junior pitcher helped the Crusaders to a top-eight finish at last month’s Class B state softball championships.

Senior catcher Kate Maxwell, junior third baseman Cristina Nelson and junior center fielder Anjel Wahlman also made the all-opponent team.Northwest B League all-opponent baseball
