Everett’s Cultural Arts Commission announced this week the recipients of the 2008 Richard Wendt Award of Excellence are Bob and Dona Anderson, in recognition of their contributions to Everett’s cultural arts. Bob Anderson started the arts commission and the 1 percent for the arts program in Everett during his time as mayor of Everett from 1968 to 1977. Dona Anderson is a nationally-recognized fiber artist.
The Andersons are also part of a large network working to build the Visual Arts Education Center in downtown Everett.
The Cultural Arts Commission invites the public to celebrate the contributions of Bob and Dona Anderson at an awards ceremony Nov. 12, 6:15 p.m. in the Monte Cristo Ballroom, 1507 Wall St. in downtown Everett. The awards event is in conjunction with the Arts Council of Snohomish County’s Holiday Arts Show, which runs from noon to 5 p.m. on the same day at the same location.
