Cafe de Paris (109 Main St., Edmonds; 425-771-2350): A French dining experience without breaking your bank, with prompt, warm and friendly served matched by the menu and atmosphere. All the classics are available — chateaubriand, boeuf bourgignon and escargot, saumon (salmon) florentine and filet de boeuf au poivre (pepper steak), plus fish, chicken, beef, pasta and crepes and an array of appetizers, salads and desserts. Prices: most dinner entrees $15.95-$18.95, some specialties higher; lunch, sandwiches and omelettes from $6.50, specialties $6.95 to $13.95. (Reviewed May 21)

Old Country Buffet (4601 200th St. SW, Lynnwood; 16549 Aurora Ave. N., Shoreline): If you’re really hungry and want a good value, the Old Country Buffet will fit the bill. On top of its more than 90 different all-you-can-eat-and-drink food items served every day, the O.C.B. also has special seafood nights on Wednesdays and Fridays and special barbecue nights Thursdays and Saturdays. Avg. meal cost: adults, $7.39 (lunch), $10.01 (dinner); Children 2-12, 50 cents per year of age (lunch), 55 cents per year of age (dinner). (Reviewed May 14)

Lakeview Grill (at Ballinger Lakes Golf Course, 23000 Lakeview Dr., Mountlake Terrace; 425-775-6467): Patio dining and picturesque views of the great outdoors provide a delightful setting most local restaurants can’t match. Menu includes fish &chips, Ballinger burgers, deli sandwiches, chicken strips and grilled hotdogs. Dishes come with soup, salad or fries; Appetizers and a variety of beers and wines are available. Avg. meal cost: $6.95 to $8.50. (Reviewed May 7)

Maddox Grill (18411 Hwy. 99, Lynnwood; 425-778-2223): Settling in well in its new Lynnwood home, the move from Richmond Beach has been an opportunity to expand and has enlivened its menu of fresh seafood and Northwest cuisine. With the combination of the food and the atmosphere — relaxed, wholesome and comfortable — the restaurant will be a winner among food-oriented individuals, groups of friends and families. Claire’s Pantry (800 164th St. SE., Mill Creek; 425-743-2333): Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a broad selection of traditional American staples, including breakfast, seafood, Italian entrees, sandwiches, burgers and salads. A perfect place to take a family, but a single person can eat there and enjoy themselves, too. (Reviewed April 23)
