The Shoreline School District is shuffling some of its administrative positions and hiring two new administrators.

The three positions of associate superintendent, executive director of teaching and learning and assistant superintendent have been collapsed into two positions. The district is hiring for one of those two positions: an executive director of secondary schools and student services.

Consolidating three jobs into two allows for the creation of a new position: deputy superintendent, said Sue Walker, superintendent.

The position, which the district also is hiring for, will oversee finances, business services and human resources.

“Those areas need to be stabilized,” Walker said. “It’s the second position terms of salary and importance.”

The district is hoping to attract qualified people for the job, she said.
