Robin Dode, a Lynnwood business leader and community volunteer, has announced her intention to run for the Lynnwood City Council.
Dode lives and works in Lynnwood, enjoys volunteering in many local organizations, and is the parent of twin boys in the Edmonds School District. She and her sons just celebrated their 10th year as homeowners in Lynnwood.
“One of the most significant keys to success in any organization, including the city of Lynnwood, is the quality of external relationships developed and fostered over time,” Dode said in a prepared statement. “I have an excellent record of service with two of the city’s key constituents: public education and the local business community. The combination of my business background and leadership skills will be an excellent resource to the council as they begin the hard work of finalizing an integrated city wide strategic plan and, ultimately, the direction of Lynnwood’s future.”
Dode is a senior vice president and team leader at Evergreen Bank, where she is responsible for the commercial loan production at the Lynnwood, Bellevue and Federal Way offices. Her branch won the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence award in 2005.
Her activities include membership in the South Snohomish County and Everett Chambers of Commerce, including the Joint Legislative Affairs Committee. She was a recent member of Lynnwood Rotary, has volunteered for Western Washington Banker’s Association government affairs and participated in the Puget Sound Regional Economic Plan and Snohomish County Economic Development Council.
She also has been an active volunteer in the Edmonds School District since 1999. Her activities there include serving on the district bond and levy campaign in 2003 and 2005; as president of the Meadowdale Elementary Parent Club from 2001 to 2003; as a member of the Public Education Foundation for the Edmonds school District from 2003 to 2007 and as its board chairwoman from 2004 to 2006; and as secretary and treasurer of Powerful Partners for Schools and Communities from 2002 to 2006.
Dode has an undergraduate degree in finance from Arizona State University and a graduate degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Southern California.
She plans a campaign kickoff event in early June.
