Puget Sound area playwrights Romney Gibson and Amanda Aikman unveil their new comedy “The Pack” in two shows Sept. 15 and Sept. 16 as part of the Driftwood Players PlayCafé drama and dessert series.
When a close-knit group of friends whose lives center around their dogs meet their beloved buddy’s fiancée — who only likes “very remote” dogs — the result is a romantic comedy that pits dog lovers against true love. Tara Jensen directs.
In this unique play-reading format, theatergoers have the opportunity to experience new works performed by The Driftwood Players as book-in-hand readings. Café on the Terrace in Mountlake Terrace hosts the evening reading as a dinner event, a special three course meal featuring your choice of entrees: vegetable lasagna, meat lasagna or pork piccata.
“The Pack” plays at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 and Thursday, Sept. 16 at Café on the Terrace, located at 22826 56th Avenue W. in Mountlake Terrace. Tickets are $13 plus tax, beverage and gratuity, and reservations (required) may be obtained by calling 425-712-9112.
