Work continues to move along on a pair of road construction projects in the Mill Creek city limits.

On Dumas Road, work continues on new storm drainage, water and sewer facilities. A large precast concrete underground detention vault was placed at the corner of Dumas Road and the Bothell-Everett Highway on Jan. 13.

The five-month-long Dumas Road closure between North Creek Drive and the Park and Ride is now tentatively scheduled to begin on Feb. 7 instead of Jan. 31. Recent wet weather has slowed construction work down, city engineer Scott Smith said.

The city has a phone line with updates on the Dumas Road project. It is 425-921-5769.

At the project to re-design the intersection at 164th Street SE at Mill Creek Boulevard, a concrete curb and sidewalk was removed at each corner of the intersection during the week of Jan. 10. In addition, a new signal pole was erected Jan. 13. The operational switchover will be weather dependent since the north leg of the intersection on Mill Creek Boulevard will need to be restriped.

Outside the Mill Creek city limits, a single lane of traffic on 41st Avenue SE between 148th and 156th streets SE east of Mill Creek is closed during the daytime hours until March 3. The closure will allow construction crews to install water and sewer lines in conjunction with a new subdivision.
