Work on improvements to Dumas Road will begin next week, according to a Nov. 24 memo from the city of Mill Creek.

One of the first items of work is the removal of designated trees along Dumas Road. This will require temporary daytime closures of Dumas during the first two weeks of December, but the road will be open for the peak commute times and for local access.

The full closure of Dumas Road will likely take place in February.

Meanwhile, the city’s other major road project, the south connection of Main Street to Mill Creek Boulevard, is nearing completion. According to a city memo, the street lights for the southern portion of Main Street should be completed early this month.

Construction work is also affecting roads in unincorporated Snohomish County surrounding Mill Creek.

One lane on 164th Street SE between Third Avenue SE and Cascadian Way is closed for shoulder work during daytime hours. The closure is expected to be in effect until Dec. 15.

Single lanes will be closed on Cascadian Way, 146th Street SW and Meridian Drive SE. Those lane closures are in effect during the daytime hours until Dec. 31 so crews can extend a gas main.
