A pair of Edmonds-Woodway runners are headed to the Class 4A state boys cross country championships.
Derry Betts and Michael Stewart finished sixth and seventh respectively at last week’s Northwest District 4A meet and earned a trip to Pasco for tomorrow’s state meet.
Edmonds-Woodway placed fourth and was followed by district rival Mountlake Terrace in the team standings.
In the girls race, Edmonds-Woodway freshman Kate Southcote-Want placed eighth overall and also qualified for state.
The Meadowdale boys team finished just two points shy of qualifying for the Class 3A state meet. Daniel Stabbert (fourth), Duncan Hendrick (10th) and Chris Kratz (13th) were among the 15 runners to qualify as individuals.
Lynnwood’s Natalya Boyko finished 11th in the girls race to qualify for state.
The Jackson boys and the Snohomish girls claimed the 4A team titles and the Sehome boys and Squalicum girls won the 3A championships.
Jackson’s Jeff Helmer claimed the 4A boys individual crown and Lake Stevens’ Amber Nickelson was first in the 4A girls race.
