Edmonds Community College Theatre Arts presents “The Cherry Orchard” by Anton Chekhov, playing through Nov. 7 at the college.
“The Cherry Orchard,” first produced at the Moscow Art Theatre 100 years ago, is set at a Russian estate in 1904. The story reveals the inevitable destruction of a class system, foreshadows the Russian Revolution 13 years later and looks at the complex politics of human relationships.
On Friday and Saturday nights, playgoers can get into the mood by having a traditional Russian dinner, prepared by Culinary Arts’ staff and students. The dinner begins at 6:15 p.m., one hour before the play, for an additional $12. Performance-only tickets are $8 or $5 for students and seniors.
“The Cherry Orchard” is performed in the Triton Union Building at Edmonds Community College, located at 20000 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood. For tickets or additional information call 425-640-1313.
