Edmonds Community College qualified for the NWAACC softball championships for the 11th year in a row.
The Tritons (25-7 league, 29-10 overall) won their final eight games of the regular season — and 16 of their last 18 — to overtake Shoreline for second place in the North Division behind Highline.
As a No. 2 seed, Edmonds drew a first-round matchup with Mount Hood, the third seed out of the South, today at noon. The winner advances to face Spokane in the quarterfinals.
Edmonds was ranked eighth in the final coaches poll of the season, one spot below Mount Hood (23-9, 23-14).
The 16-team, double-elimination tournament runs through May 18 at Delta Park in Portland, Ore.
