Edie gets her groove back

Edie is a pet success story from Veterinary Specialty Center in Lynnwood.

Edie is a 3-and a half-year-old French bulldog owned by Michelle Shaw. Shaw came to Lynnwood’s Veterinary Specialty Center in March because Edie woke up one morning and was suddenly unable to walk. Edie saw Dr. Sean Sanders at VSC who determined she needed special back, hind end surgery, according to doctors.

After surgery Edie had more bad luck.

She came down with pneumonia. As her pneumonia was resolving, she had another misfortune of being stung by a bee, had an allergic reaction and had to come back to the emergency room for treatment. With her strong spirit, Edie pulled through again. Edie has regained some hind limb movement and with the help of a custom puppy wheel chair, gets around quite well, her doctors and human parents say. Doctors said they are hoping Edie will regain use of her hind legs and be able to walk again on her own eventually and she improves by the day.
