So far it’s been a cold and rainy spring here in the Pacific “Northwet,” as our friends in drier climates like to call it.
But during the last few days of sunshine and blue skies, our thoughts inevitably turned toward summer and all its glory – backyard barbecues, seasonal fresh fruit, lazy days on the river or camping under the stars.
As you plan your summer, keep in mind all the activities and events our South County cities have to offer.
Take a trip to a farmers market and buy fresh produce and bread, beautiful flowers or a one-of-a-kind gift from a local artisan. Check the Out &About section in today’s Enterprise for a list of farmers markets near you.
Starting next month, the summer festival season kicks off with the Edmonds Waterfront Festival, followed by both the Edmonds Arts Festival and the Shoreline Arts Festival. In July, there’s Tour de Terrace in Mountlake Terrace and the Mill Creek Festival and Street Fair. August brings the three-day food fest that is A Taste of Edmonds and the sea creatures of the Brier SeaScare.
However you choose to spend your summer, be sure to spend a little of it enjoying the street-fair atmosphere with your friend and neighbors.
