Edmonds dancer in Radio City show
Megan Camper of Edmonds was selected for the leading role of Clara in the “Nutcracker” segment of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
Camper, 12, was among many local dancers who auditioned for the role of Clara. All dancers were required to be between the ages of 10 and 14 and to have ballet and Pointe training.
“I am so excited to have the chance to dance with the Rockettes,” said Megan Camper. “The Nutcracker is one of my favorite ballets, and I have always wanted to dance the part of Clara.”
Prior to performing with the Christmas Spectacular, Megan Camper has danced for the past three years at Olympic Ballet studio in Edmonds. She has performed in many supporting roles in the Olympic Ballet’s productions of “The Nutcracker” and “Madeline.” This year, she will also play the role of Clara in the Olympic Ballet’s annual production of “The Nutcracker.”
Camper is currently a student at Meadowdale Middle School in Lynnwood. When not dancing, Camper enjoys taking piano and voice lessons.
