Anne Steves was honored at the noon luncheon of the Rotary Club of Edmonds.
Steves and her husband, Rick, of Edmonds’ Europe Through the Back Door fame, purchased a local apartment complex that was recently converted into the YWCA’s Trinity Place. The apartment provides temporary housing for women in need and their children. The Edmonds Rotary managed the project and installed playground equipment, landscaped the site and will help look after it in the future.
Throughout the process, it was Anne who most often represented the Steves family at planning meetings. The club appreciated how she greeted every crisis with her infectious “we can do it” attitude. Anne is the one who has personally supported Pathways for Women over the years by acting as a table captain at the annual YWCA fund-raising luncheon.
Kathy Dahlstrom presented Anne with the highest award given by Rotary, the Paul Harris Fellowship. The certificate accompanying the award stated it was given, “In appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations between peoples of the world.”
