Egg Hunt: Mill Creek event great, thanks to donors

The city of Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Department had a very successful Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt on April 3. More than 2,000 children participated in the four egg hunts, scooping up about 12,000 candy-filled eggs and prize eggs that could be traded in for soccer balls and baskets.

The Journey Church provided many fabulous volunteers, as well as three bounce houses and face painting. Volunteers from Town Center Starbucks handed out free coffee to warm up the parents while waiting for the hunt to begin. Fire District No. 7 brought down a truck for the kids to check out and visit with the firefighters. Participants donated 668 pounds of food and a dozen new blankets to the Volunteers of America Food Bank.

The city would be unable to provide these free community events without the generous support of our community event sponsors. We are sincerely grateful for the support of:

Gold Sponsors: Mill Creek Rotary, Windermere Mill Creek, Central Market, Sullivan Orthodontics, Pacific Medical Centers Canyon Park and Waste Management

Silver Sponsors: Friends of the Mill Creek Library, Copiers Etcetera Inc., The Little Gym of Alderwood, Just 2 Dads Insurance &Financial Services, The Goddard School, Budget Blinds in Mill Creek and Frost Doughnuts
