As expected, gubernatorial candidates Jay Inslee and Rob McKenna will head to the November general election based on early returns from Tuesday’s primary election.

McKenna, who visited Edmonds on a campaign stop Aug. 5, was trailing Inslee both in Snohomish County and statewide.

In local races, legislative incumbents look strong, while Republican John Koster and Democrat Suzan DelBene grabbed the early lead for an open seat in the 1st Congressional District.

Meanwhile, the Mountlake Terrace civic center was falling short again.
