Lynnwood Library Gallery’s first exhibit for the summer aims to capture the brightness of the season. Featuring three artists, Mae dela Cruz of Kirkland, Lea Yang of Seattle and Nora Ng of Seattle, the exhibit focuses on levity and the colors of summer.

Dela Cruz, who works with colored pencils, will be showing floral drawings from a series called “Earth’s Laughter.” An architect by trade, dela Cruz’s attention for detail and structure can be seen in her drawings, which rely heavily on intricate shapes.

The other two artists, Yang and Ng, are both Seattle-based photographers. Yang’s photographs are inspired by her international travel; she has been to over 21 countries. Her current work explores visits to China, India and New York City.

Ng infuses her personal feelings for a moment into the frame of her photographs, capturing images that illustrate the simplicity and beauty of the world around her. It is her memory of what makes that moment special she hopes to convey in her pictures, according to a press release.

The work of all three artists will be on display from through July 8 at the Lynnwood Library.
