For the closing day of the Smithsonian traveling exhibit, “Yesterdays Tomorrows: Past Visions of the American Future,” the Shoreline Historical Museum hosts local Seattle World’s Fair expert, Dean Nissen, and a screening of the 1962 short film, “Century 21, The Seattle World’s Fair” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7.
In 8mm format, the film is “sound-synced,” which means the soundtrack is on a record album separate from the movie.
The Smithsonian exhibit, which explores how people in the past have envisioned the future, is supported in part by the City of Shoreline, Humanities Washington, 4Culture and the Shoreline Historical Museum’s members and partners.
The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and is located at 749 N. 175th. For more information call 206-542-7111 or visit www.shorelinehistoricalmuseum.org.
