King County Explorer Search and Rescue is seeking motivated youth to attend their basic training program.

Trainees must be 14 by November, have a desire to help others and be willing to work as part of a team that responds to emergencies at all hours of the day and night.

King County ESAR also welcomes adults to participate in the basic training and to assist with communications and van driving.

Training orientations run through November. Visit www.kcesar.org for a complete training schedule and to watch a recruitment video, or call the ESAR information line at 206-748-1300 to find out orientation dates.

King County ESAR was founded in 1954 as the first youth-based search and rescue team in the nation. Specializing in injured person evacuations and ground search operations, as well as maintaining a technical rescue and mountain bike rescue team, King County ESAR responds to 60-80 missions a year in King County and around the state.
