Fimia moving city in a positive direction

I am voting for Maggie Fimia in this election. So many positive things have happened for the benefit of all in Shoreline since she has been a Shoreline City Council member. First and foremost is that she has valued public opinion and public input on a whole range of projects and policies, from welcoming all speakers at the council meetings to fostering citizen advisory groups. The public — that is Shoreline’s citizens and business owners — now have a say in what goes on in Shoreline. This is vastly different from the situation prior to her election to Shoreline’s City Council.

Secondly, Maggie Fimia has consistently and persistently worked to ensure that citizens’ priorities are recognized and enacted. As a result of her efforts, Shoreline hired a much needed additional street crimes police officer, cutting the travel budget so this occurred. Maggie has been keenly sensitive to the social and health needs of Shoreline, pushing for an additional counselor at the Community Services Center. As well, she has worked to find solutions to retaining Fircrest and its residents. Now Fircrest is able to help those clients in the community who are in crisis situations. It is the safety net for clients and families on a short term basis who need behavior and social retraining programs.

Thirdly, Maggie promised us open government and careful attention to the budget, and she has kept her word on that.

Further, Shoreline’s current city manager listens to all Shoreline citizens and business owners. So this city council is able to function more effectively.

Finally, Maggie Fimia has been gracious to all, even while being attacked. She has my vote.
