On the last “shopping Sunday” before Christmas, Dec. 23, a festive concert of holiday and classical music will be performed in downtown Edmonds featuring classical musicians from around the Northwest. The proceeds of this concert will benefit The Max Foundation, a worldwide leukemia organization headquartered in Edmonds.
Seattle Opera mezzo soprano Gail Neil will be joined by mezzo soprano Ute Christiane Freun, an Edmonds resident who has performed internationally; acclaimed pianist, Mark Salman; flutist, Kimberly Breilein; and the popular Northwest String Quartet.
The program will highlight musical gems by Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, Brahms and Chopin as well as selections from the ‘Messiah’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’.
This special concert is designed with attending families in mind. The duration will be about one hour, followed by a holiday carol sing-a-long and reception with refreshments afterward with the artists and staff of The Max Foundation.
